Bridge is the ultimate card game. Two pairs sit with North and South against East and West with 13 cards each.  Playing clockwise, each player following suit, the the “trick” is won by the highest card on each round. Each trick earns a certain number of points.  The pair with the greatest number of points is the winner. Bridge derived from the earlier game of whist, which is just the trick-taking activity. What makes bridge distinctive is that once the players have seen their cards there is an auction to determine which pair is going to try to get a specific number of tricks or more.  This requires using conventions where each bid conveys meaning about the strengths and weakness of one’s hand.

The Young Chelsea Bridge Club is based at the MindSports Centre.

Instructors will be present to teach you bridge, starting with MiniBridge.
