Participants will be guided through the creative process behind game design, followed by hands-on playtesting and practical activities.
A panel of designers will introduce the audience to some theoretical foundations accessible to anyone. Afterwards, the participants will be able to playtest some new games under development, give their feedback and train their critical thinking skills.
Game Designers
Ali Mussellis a trainee educational psychologist and game designer. He makes easy-to-learn board games that play in under 20 minutes. His first two published games will be released in late 2026/early 2027 – an abstract strategy game and a social deduction game.
Paul Mansfield is a retired London civil servant who now designs and develops a wide variety of tabletop games. His current design projects include several board games, card games and role-playing games.
Alan Wallat is an imaginative board game designer intent on encouraging people to be more playful in their day to day. His designs are varied from quick to learn family and party games, such as Posers, as well as tough, head-to-head card games like War of the Toads.”
Josh Ewart is an hobbyist board game designer who designs light to mid complexity games. He often focuses on games that have different or unique player interactions with a mix of cooperative and competitive elements
