Othello can be learned in one minute and provide a life-long challenge. The objective is to have the majority of discs of your colour facing up at the end of the game. Every turn, you place a new disc on the board in a way to sandwich opponent pieces between your own and flip them.
Othello was patented in Japan in 1973, although its origin is likely older, and the World Othello Federation was founded in 2005 and since then there have been World Championship every year a several tournaments around the world.
